Child-rearing is a joyful and precious time, but it can also bring about feelings of anxiety and burden. “IKUMO Yashio (Shinagawa City Yashio Childcare Support Facility)” was established to provide a place where families raising children can feel safe and comfortable.

Inside the facility, there is a play area equipped with wooden toys that provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, as well as a temporary childcare room called the “Oasis Room.” It is designed to be a cozy, inviting space where parents and children can casually drop by.
Additionally, we provide various types of support through parenting information, consultations, and advice, aiming to broadly assist families with children.

【Environmentally Friendly ZEB-Certified Building】
**“IKUMO Yashio (Shinagawa City Yashio Childcare Support Facility)”** is the first public facility in Tokyo to receive **ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) certification** through the renovation of an existing building.
By **maximizing the building’s energy-saving performance and utilizing renewable energy**, we are reducing environmental impact and contributing to the creation of a sustainable community.

**What is ZEB?**
**ZEB** stands for **Net Zero Energy Building**, commonly referred to as “ZEB.” It refers to a building that aims to achieve a **net-zero balance of annual primary energy consumption** while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.
Since people are active within the building, it is impossible to completely eliminate energy consumption. However, by **reducing energy use through energy-saving measures (Energy Conservation)** and **producing energy through renewable sources (Energy Generation)**, it is possible to achieve a net-zero balance of energy consumption.
There is a **Storybook Tree**, which serves as both a space for interaction and an event venue.
It is a **calm and cozy space** equipped with **bookshelves and a book house**, designed for comfortable use.
This is a **room equipped with a projector**, where children can **play with light and shadows projected onto the walls**.
The area features **large playground equipment such as a treehouse**, allowing children to **experience the joy of climbing trees**.
This is a **room designed for children aged 0 to 2**, where they can **safely roll around and play**.
This is a **room dedicated to providing temporary childcare services** to meet the needs of families raising children.
This is an **artificial turf plaza** where children can **expand their imagination and freely engage in creative play**.
